Equipped with miniature ECG Bluetooth® transmitters with replacable plastic cases, CardVET devices provide an easy to attach, wireless solution for real time ECG moniotoring. CardVET can easily be upgraded to a holter-type application.
Using a PDA microcomputer offers unparalleled flexibility and access to a range of applications. PDA-based CardVET monitor can also serve as GPS navigation tool, mobile phone with all its functionalities including internet access, personal planner, digital camera, etc. These additional functionalities can be easily switched off in CardVET mode and turned back on after ECG monitoring is finished.
Based on the results of scientific research in areas of simulating the heart's electrical activity using the FitzHugh-Nagumo model and periodicity analysis of biological signals in mammals we have developed an intelligent self-learning algorithm. The algorithm has several adjustable parameters for automatic analysis of a single ECG channel signal.
The algorithm detects arrhythmia in various mammal species and in animals of different sizes within the same species (e.g. dogs) as well as in humans. In recent years the algorithm has been used with cardiomonitor parameters set for humans at intensive care units of over a hundred clinics and hospitals. As of recently the technology has been implemented in veterinary applications.
CardVET Monitor detects arrhythmia in puppies, adult dogs, giant and toy breeds as well as in cats. It displays easy to use touch screen menu from which the appropriate profile for ECG analysis can be selected. It also provides an option of creating a distinct analysis profile to detect arrhythmia in other mammals, for example in horses. Our cardiomonitor is equipped with advanced functions for alarm configuration and sound signals for pulse and life-threatening arrhythmia events. It can be easily upgraded to a veterinary holter application with automatic detection of arrhythmia events. |
